If you are trying to use a library that does have a .nicnt file but it still won't appear, ensure it is not hidden in preferences. Open Kontakt 7 and go to -> Libraries . Ensure the box next to your library is checked.

After a moment, the library should appear in the main browser panel with its artwork. The Import Content function reads the library's internal file and places it in Kontakt's database. This makes it a permanent fixture in your browser across sessions.
